Audience foraine à Sansamba (Sédhiou) : Plus de 1000 dossiers de demandes signés par le président du tribunal
The commune of Sansamba, located in Diassing, west of the Sédhiou region, has just taken an important step in regularizing the civil status of its population.
During mobile court hearings held in the locality, more than 1,000 applications for civil status documents were signed by the president of the Sédhiou court.
According to the mayor of the town, 2,000 other cases are already scheduled in the coming weeks in order to respond to a strong social demand that has long remained unresolved.
For several years, the inhabitants of the villages and hamlets of Sansamba did not have a culture of declaring births.
This situation had serious consequences on people's lives. Many students sat for exams without birth certificates, civil marriages were difficult to celebrate, and many women could not access credit due to a lack of administrative documents.
Young people also faced obstacles to travel, accessing funding, or finding certain professional opportunities.
The lack of marriage and death certificates, as well as a business registry, severely limited economic activity in the town. Gradually, this administrative deficiency hampered the socio-economic development of the locality.
Today, with nearly 3,000 people enrolled in this extensive regularization process, Sansamba hopes to turn a new page in its history. Through this initiative, the municipality aims to strengthen social inclusion and equity, as well as access to human rights.
