Axe Ziguinchor – Thiès : 4 kg de drogue dans un colis, un chauffeur de bus frôle la prison
An attempt to transport drugs between Ziguinchor and Thiès on board a bus was thwarted thanks to the vigilance of the customs services and the driver of the public transport vehicle.
According to Seneweb sources, MS, a driver providing the Thiès – Ziguinchor route, was approached in the southern capital by an individual who gave him a bag containing, according to him, clothes and personal belongings to be transported to Thiès.
During the journey, the bus was stopped at the Keur Ayib border post. During the inspection, customs officers discovered that the bag actually contained 4 kg of cannabis concealed in the clothing. The drugs were then confiscated.
Continuing his mission in collaboration with the defense and security forces, the driver proceeded to Thiès. Upon arrival, he ambushed and then apprehended the recipient of the package: MC, 33 years old, a mobile phone repairman based in Colobane, who was passing through Thiès.
The suspect was handed over to the police station of the 1st arrondissement of Thiès for questioning as part of the investigation. The seized drugs are being held at the customs office at the Keur Ayib checkpoint. The customs brigade officially requested the suspect's release as part of the ongoing proceedings.
