Bébé de 18 mois égorgé : l’oncle de l’enfant avoue le crime et dit pourquoi il a tué son neveu
A major breakthrough has been made in the investigation into the death of an 18-month-old baby, whose throat was slit and body thrown into the toilet of a house in Vélingara. The victim's maternal uncle has confessed to the crime. Even more significantly, he has revealed his motive. Libération, which broke the story, reports that, when questioned by the investigating officers, he stated that he "killed the child to get revenge following a dispute with his mother."
The accused is Mr. Camara, who is now being prosecuted for murder. Libération reports that he is "known to be a drug addict".
He was arrested in the early hours of the investigation, along with four other members of his family. According to the newspaper, these individuals were in police custody at the Vélingara gendarmerie until Tuesday evening.
The baby was found dead in a house next door to theirs on Sunday. The murder weapon was recovered in the yard of another property located nearby.
Libération reports that despite Mr. Camara's confession, the investigation is continuing.
