Bourses de sécurité familiale : Maïmouna Diéye annonce la reprise des paiements
The Senegalese government has undertaken significant reforms aimed at strengthening social protection and the economic empowerment of the most vulnerable populations. The Family Security Grant, a key instrument of the national solidarity policy, has been suspended, resulting in a long wait for beneficiaries.
While touring the Matam region as part of the National Women's Week caravan, Maïmouna Dièye, the Minister of Family, Social Action, and Solidarity, announced the resumption of family security grant distributions. This relaunch follows the assessment and restructuring of the National Unified Registry (RNU), the main tool for identifying vulnerable households in Senegal.
"The system put in place makes it possible to better target public interventions which aim at thousands of families by offering them the opportunities to ensure the schooling of their children, improve their food security and cope with essential expenses," says the Minister.
She adds that the security grant is now part of an integrated approach that combines social protection, economic inclusion, and community development. The authorities' ambition is to make this support a genuine driver of inclusion, transforming it into a collective subsidy capable of providing beneficiaries with the tools to overcome vulnerability.
In the Matam region, more than 76,000 households are registered in the national single register.
