Castors : «Dr Diack», la lime et le mécanicien, les soins dentaires à 150 000 F CFA virent à l’enfer
The Criminal Investigation Department brought a man named MI Diack before the Dakar prosecutor's office last Thursday for illegally practicing medicine and endangering the lives of others. This 55-year-old man was posing as a dentist. He was arrested following a complaint filed by N. Diallo. Suffering from excruciating toothache, this mechanic had contacted the accused. He would come to regret it, as the treatment was pure torture.
MI Diack received N. Diallo at his home in Castors, taking care, no doubt to reassure him, to specify that his office was in Ouest-Foire and that he sometimes consulted at his house. According to Libération, which reported this story in its Monday edition, the patient agreed to pay the 150,000 CFA francs demanded by the fake dentist.
After Dr. Diack's intervention, the mechanic returned home. However, he was overcome with intense pain "that prevented him from eating and even opening his mouth," the daily newspaper reported.
"That's why he went back to Mr. Diack to ask him to remove the product he had put in his mouth. Even using a file, [the fake doctor] was unable to do it, prompting Mr. Diallo to go to a real dentist before filing a complaint."
When questioned by the police, Libération continues, Diack admitted the facts, confessing that he has been practicing illegally since 1998. A statement that risks worsening his case.
