Colobane : un vendeur de chaussures tué par son ami, les aveux glaçants du meurtrier
A settling of scores between two young shoe vendors turned tragic on Sunday, May 10, near the John F. Kennedy high school in Colobane. Around 8:30 p.m., according to Libération, Cheikhouna Diop, 22, was stabbed during a violent altercation. Taken to the hospital by firefighters, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after being transported.
The main suspect, A. Dieng (18 years old), was arrested by the Medina police station's Criminal Investigation Unit in the "Roukou Feudiay" area. During questioning, he confessed to the crime. As reported by the newspaper, the accused claimed he acted out of revenge because the victim regularly harassed him.
According to initial findings of the investigation, the two young men were known to police, particularly for their drug use. The suspect had recently been jailed for public intoxication. Dieng is currently in custody on suspicion of voluntary manslaughter, the newspaper reports.
