DAKAR : 21 individus arrêtés pour trafic de drogue
The Dakar regional narcotics brigade, under the jurisdiction of the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS), arrested 21 individuals on November 25, 2025. They were in possession of 56 cannabis resin (kepas) and 107 grams of loose cannabis resin (kush), psychotropic substances including six tablets and five Tramadol pills, and five bladed weapons, including a machete, four knives, and five pairs of scissors. The seizure took place between Bountou Pikine and the old airstrip.
This operation follows a series of denunciations, recriminations and requests for intervention relating to intense open-air drug trafficking, carried out by young people who also engage in assaults in the Bountou Pikine sector and around the old runway of the Léopold Sédar Senghor airport.
To this end, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, investigators spotted individuals at the location in the act of repackaging and distributing drugs. The ensuing raid led to the arrest of two individuals in Bountou Pikine, carrying six tablets and five Tramadol pills. Further investigations located their suppliers at the old airstrip, where police arrested 19 individuals, seized drugs, and found them in possession of bladed weapons.
Taken to the station, they were all placed in police custody for conspiracy, possession of drugs and psychotropic substances for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of bladed weapons. In addition, a sum of money and several mobile phones were also seized.
The police investigation is ongoing.
