Dakar Dem Dikk renoue avec la santé financière : un tournant décisif en 2025
After several years of difficulties, the national public transport company Dakar Dem Dikk (DDD) is beginning a significant financial recovery in 2025. The latest results, as of September 30, 2025, show a notable improvement in the company's economic situation, marking a clear break with the previous year.
As of this date, Dakar Dem Dikk shows a positive financial balance of +1.9 billion CFA francs, compared to a deficit of -1.2 billion CFA francs in 2024. This performance reflects the combined effects of the reforms undertaken, better control of expenses and a renewed commercial dynamic.
Revenue for the 2024 financial year reached 14.4 billion CFA francs, supported by a 20% increase in operating income. This growth was primarily driven by the strong recovery in intercity transport activities, up 36%, and the international segment, which recorded remarkable growth of 40%.
These results confirm the gradual recovery of Dakar Dem Dikk, whose intercity and international routes are now proving to be genuine drivers of growth. They also reflect renewed user confidence and a better positioning of the company in the public transport market.
However, despite these encouraging indicators, major structural challenges remain. The company continues to face a debt estimated at nearly 50 billion CFA francs, as well as the burden of its payroll, which continues to weigh on its financial stability.
Despite these constraints, the performance recorded in 2025 opens new perspectives for Dakar Dem Dikk. It suggests the possibility of a sustainable recovery, provided that the financial restructuring and governance efforts undertaken continue, in order to consolidate the gains and guarantee the long-term viability of the public company.
