Dakar : Des participants exclus d'une rencontre interreligieuse après avoir protesté contre l’Ambassadeur d’Israël
A meeting on interreligious dialogue held at the Fleur de Lys Hotel was the scene of a spectacular incident when the Israeli ambassador took the floor to discuss bilateral relations.
Several participants stood up to protest as soon as the ambassador spoke, abruptly interrupting the event.
According to witnesses, the protesters were shoved and forcibly removed from the hall. One of them shouted a resounding "Free Palestine" as he was being evacuated, sparking outrage from some members of the audience.
Other participants, who were not expelled, said that the meeting itself should never have been held in Senegal, citing "the genocide" in Palestine to justify their opposition.
