Décès des soldats en Casamance : les messages de Sonko et de Diomaye
In recent weeks, the national army, which launched a large-scale operation to destroy cannabis crops in Casamance, has lost several soldiers in northern Sindian. The head of state addressed this distressing situation on Saturday.
"I would like to express my condolences to all the families and to the entire nation for the loss of soldiers that we have recently recorded in the south of the country. I also take this opportunity to wish a speedy recovery to all the wounded," he said at the end of the Korité prayer at the Grand Mosque of Dakar.
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, after his prayer in Ziguinchor, also offered his condolences to the families of the soldiers. He expressed his deep regret that all those killed, on both sides, were Senegalese.
“When you see the list of fallen soldiers, there are some from all areas of Senegal. Two are from Casamance, others are from other areas of the country. These are painful losses. Certainly, on the other side, there are greater losses, but they are all Senegalese,” he lamented.
