Défilé du 4 avril : le Directeur général des Douanes passe en revue les troupes
As part of preparations for the Independence Day parade, the railway capital, Thiès, is gradually getting into the rhythm of rehearsals. This Thursday, March 26, 2026, the Director General of Customs (DGD), Babacar Mbaye, conducted an inspection visit to the Senegal International Trade Center (CICES).
Accompanied by members of the Management Committee, the Director General of Customs began his visit with a review of the troops mobilized by the Customs Administration. This inspection is part of the preparations for the parade celebrating Senegal's Independence Day, a major event that this year marks the 66th anniversary of the country's accession to international sovereignty.
During his visit, Babacar Mbaye attentively observed several demonstrations performed by the detachments. The objective was to ensure the fluidity, coordination, and precision of the movements that will be presented during the major military and paramilitary parade scheduled in Thiès.

Satisfied with the rigor and commitment shown by the agents, the Director General expressed his confidence in their ability to represent the Customs Administration with dignity. He commended the quality of their performance, believing it bodes well for their outstanding participation in this national celebration.
In his address to the troops, he also called for maintaining a high level of commitment and discipline during the final stages of preparation. He emphasized the importance of making this year's event a memorable one, living up to the nation's expectations.
In closing his speech, the DGD reminded everyone that every step taken during the parade should reflect the prestige, solidity and values of the Customs Administration, a true institutional pillar serving the Republic.
