Returning to the arrest in Kaolack of two 16-year-old students, Libération reports on a case of "extreme gravity." The newspaper sheds light on the "sordid details" of a pedophilia case that has shaken the locality, where the accused, M. Gaye and A. Ndiaye, are being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, attempted rape of a minor, and acts against nature.
According to the complaint filed on April 21st by El. HM Thiam, "whose grandson is the alleged victim," the accused, "son of a prominent figure in the Mountaga Gaye neighborhood who frequented the alleged victim's home, was caught completely naked by Ms. S. Thiam while attempting to sexually assault SS Thiam." Despite the woman's cries for help as she tried to restrain him, "Mr. Gaye managed to escape, even leaving his shoes behind."
The Kaolack Research Section (SR), which took over the case, uncovered recurring acts of extreme violence. According to the same source, Mr. Gaye is at the heart of a horrific scenario: two other boys, aged only 10 and 12, were allegedly "savagely raped" by the teenager. During his interrogation, he confessed to the acts, admitting to also being in a "relationship" with A. Ndiaye, the other minor involved.
The case takes on an even more disturbing dimension with the involvement of an adult. The daily newspaper reports that security guard A. Sow, the only adult in the group, is currently on the run. He, who had sexual relations with the young M. Gaye, is actively being sought by investigators. Given the scale of the scandal, the Kaolack prosecutor's office has requested a judicial inquiry to dismantle the entire network, Libération concludes.
