Diamaguène : Pape Ndiaga Sall tué pour une dette de 200 F CFA, le meurtrier assume son acte
A tragic weekend in Diamaguène where the residents of the Hamdallay 1 district spent the night in sadness and dismay.
Over a debt involving a paltry sum of 200 CFA francs, the apprentice tiler, Mr. Fall, also known as Mr. Sylla, aged approximately 16, fatally stabbed Pape Ndiaga Sall, aged approximately 17 or 18. The latter did not survive.
After the tragedy that occurred on Saturday night, the suspect had vanished. It was around 9 p.m. that the Diamaguène Sicap Mbao district police station was alerted to the incident.
After an investigation by the police, the lifeless body was taken to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The intense investigations carried out by the members of the research brigade of the said police station made it possible to arrest the fugitive this Sunday morning, thanks to the collaboration of his family.
The murderer confessed to the crime.
Briefly questioned by investigators, Mr. Fall, also known as Mr. Sylla, admitted to delivering the fatal blow. The crime is believed to be linked to a debt of 200 CFA francs.
“I asked Pape Ndiaga Sall to pay my money. But he insulted me and I threatened to kill him. I asked him to wait for me there. I went to get a knife,” the alleged murderer said during his interrogation, according to Seneweb sources.
Not taking the threats seriously, Pape Ndiaga Sall didn't budge an inch. Moments later, the accused apprentice tiler returned to the scene with a knife, which he used to fatally stab his opponent in the back.
The suspected murderer has been taken into custody at the Diamaguène Sicap Mbao district police station. The public prosecutor at the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court has been informed of the facts. The investigation is ongoing.
