Diamaguène-Sicap: un trafiquant arrêté avec 2 kg de chanvre indien

Law enforcement officers have arrested a suspected drug trafficker in Dakar. BI Samb, a 33-year-old driving instructor living in Thiaroye, was arrested on Saturday, September 28, 2025, in possession of two kilograms of Indian hemp.

The arrest of the accused is the result of a meticulously prepared operation by elements of the research brigade of the Diamaguène-Sicap district police station.

According to information gathered, investigators had been alerted to the existence of an Indian hemp trafficking network orchestrated by the suspect.

A shock operation

To trap the alleged trafficker, the police set up a scheme in collaboration with an informant.

A drug order was placed, setting an appointment for delivery.

After a long wait at the designated location, BI Samb finally arrived on a motorbike, accompanied by an accomplice. As soon as he got off the motorcycle to head towards the delivery point, the police arrested him.

He was in possession of two bundles of Indian hemp, each weighing one kilogram.

The accomplice flees

His accomplice, who remained on board the motorcycle, managed to escape before being apprehended.

Questioned in police custody, BI Samb admitted to the charges against him. He revealed that his accomplice's name was "Lakh," but did not provide any further details that would allow for his identification.

The suspect was taken into custody and is being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, possession, and trafficking of Indian hemp. The seized drugs were confiscated and placed under seal. The search for the fugitive accomplice continues.
