The residents of Néoudou village, in the commune of Dindéfélo, Kédougou region, are devastated by a violent fire that broke out yesterday, Monday, around 3 p.m. The fire ravaged the house of the village chief, Saliou Diallo, reducing the four huts that made up the family home to ashes. Clothing, personal belongings, rice, corn, a stock of peanuts, and money intended for the village women's economic interest group (GIE) were all reduced to a pile of ash, plunging an entire family into distress, homelessness, and without food.
It took the intervention of the local population to contain the disaster and prevent the fire from spreading.
The victims, who no longer know where to turn, are relying on the assistance of the competent authorities.
