Doguiba : une drague illégale démantelée sur les berges de la Falémé
As part of securing border areas and strictly respecting mining regulations, a large-scale operation was carried out in the Moussala sector, specifically in Doguiba.
The forces deployed in Guémédjié, in this sensitive border area, dismantled and completely destroyed an artisanal dredge illegally installed on the bank of the Falémé River. This operation is part of the enforcement of regulations prohibiting all mining and processing activities within a 500-meter radius of the river.
Thanks to a strategic deployment along the border, the units were able to quickly locate the clandestine mining site before neutralizing the equipment used for these illicit activities.
This action was widely welcomed by local communities, who have been denouncing the harmful consequences of unregulated mining for several years. They expressed their satisfaction with the authorities' commitment to environmental preservation and the protection of the Falémé River ecosystem.
Residents also pleaded for the continuation and sustainability of these security operations, in order to put a definitive end to these practices deemed destructive to the environment and harmful to local development.
