Don de sang à Dakar banlieue : La police nationale pose un acte fort de solidarité
Beyond their security missions, the men and women of the national police demonstrated, on Tuesday, June 9, their deep commitment to civic values. The Dakar Suburbs Operational Subgroup (SGODB), part of the Mobile Intervention Group (GMI), organized a blood drive at its headquarters, starting at 8 a.m.
This humanitarian initiative, carried out in partnership with the association Les Bénévoles du Sang, took place on the sidelines of the 3rd edition of the inter-company tournament of the subgroup, thus combining sport and solidarity.
It is fully in line with the support for the national blood transfusion policy and responds to the urgent call from health facilities facing increasing needs for blood products.
In front of a mobilized and committed audience, the SGODB staff took the plunge, reminding everyone through this simple but vital gesture that serving also means giving of oneself outside the field.
Through this act of solidarity, the Dakar suburbs operational subgroup reaffirms that the spirit of service to the people does not stop at the gates of police stations.
"One simple gesture, one life saved" was the motto that guided this day, a symbol of a national police force rooted in its community.
