Dr Abdoulaye Arona Ka : Un bâtisseur au service de l’agriculture durable
From the lands of Badar Peulh, in the commune of Kébémer, to the decision-making spheres of West African agriculture, Abdoulaye Arona Ka's journey is one of success built on commitment. Born in 1959, his rural roots have been decisive in shaping his path towards agricultural development and sustainability.

This technician, trained in electrical engineering at the Lycée Technique Diderot, has made a name for himself in the agricultural sector. Indeed, Abdoulaye Arona Ka has dedicated himself to development issues and has been actively involved in agricultural and social policies.
In 2004, he became president of the Confédération Paysanne du Sénégal. In this position, he distinguished himself as a champion of producers and a key player in the organization of rural areas, earning recognition from international partners such as the World Bank.

His influence is also evident at the regional level. Mr. Ka notably joined the steering committee of the West African Agricultural Productivity Program (WAAPP), under the impetus of ECOWAS. He thus contributed to structural reforms aimed at improving agricultural productivity. In 2016, he took the helm of the land commission of the ECOWAS National Agricultural Investment Program, a key mechanism for land management and governance.
Since 2018, as Director General of the High Authority of the Supreme Council for African Economic Diplomacy, he has broadened his scope of intervention. He has now established himself as a key player in the continent's economic diplomacy.

However, Abdoulaye Arona Ka continues to further his education. He recently obtained an Executive MBA from the Centre for Professional Development in Tunis, with a thesis focused on the sustainability of the peanut sector in Senegal. This work reinforces his commitment to a more efficient and responsible agricultural system.
