Drame à la BHS Médina : Un inspecteur de police à la retraite décède devant le GAB
A tragedy occurred at the main headquarters of the Housing Bank of Senegal (BHS) in Medina. C. Niass, a 68-year-old retired police inspector, reportedly died after falling ill at the bank.
According to information gathered by the Medina district police station, which was alerted to this sudden death, the former police officer was accompanying his sister-in-law, AD, to withdraw money from the BHS ATM. While she was inside the ATM completing her transaction, C. Niass waited outside. It was at this moment that he reportedly suffered a medical episode.
Security personnel present at the scene immediately alerted the BHS medical service. MM, the bank's nurse, quickly arrived on the scene to assist the man in his sixties.
According to the nurse's statements to investigators, CPR was performed for nearly 30 minutes, but the victim did not respond. Dr. SAKN from the emergency medical service (SAMU) was called in to assist. Despite the resuscitation attempts already made, the SAMU doctor officially pronounced C. Niass dead at 4:28 p.m., according to Seneweb sources. The body was taken to the hospital morgue, and an investigation has been opened.
