Ecobank Sénégal consacre la Journée Ecobank 2025 à l’éducation inclusive
On the occasion of the 13th edition of Ecobank Day, Ecobank Senegal reaffirms its commitment alongside local communities to promote inclusive and quality education by highlighting the theme of inclusive learning for all. Themed "Enabling inclusive learning for all," this edition illustrates Ecobank's belief that every child—including those with disabilities—should have equitable access to education.
Launched in 2013, Ecobank Day has become the Group's flagship corporate social responsibility initiative, mobilizing its teams, foundation, and partners around critical causes such as health, education, and youth empowerment. The 2025 edition has a special resonance: Ecobank celebrates 40 years of innovation, growth, and commitment to Africa's development.
This month, Ecobank Senegal will celebrate Ecobank Day in Mbour, in partnership with the Ensemble Demain School Group, as part of the Group's three-year campaign to "Transform Africa through Education." Founded in 2009 by a blind man, this inclusive school initially had nine students; it now has more than 300 students, including children with hearing, visual, and intellectual disabilities, who learn alongside able-bodied children.
As part of this day, Ecobank Senegal will offer the school a fully equipped computer room (computers and cabling), in order to improve learning conditions and strengthen digital inclusion.
On the occasion of Ecobank Day, Sahid Yallou, Managing Director of Ecobank Senegal , recalled : “Education is a major lever for development. By supporting a school like Ensemble Demain, on the occasion of Ecobank Day, Ecobank Senegal wishes to contribute to building a more inclusive society, where every child, whatever their abilities, has access to the tools necessary to succeed. This action illustrates our lasting commitment: to support local communities and give Senegalese youth the means to build a confident and independent future.”
This action is in line with Ecobank Senegal's ongoing commitment to education and innovation. Over the past three years, the financial institution has already equipped the computer rooms of CEM Rufisque Ouest and Lycée Mame Abdou Aziz in Guédiawaye. It also offered the beneficiary institutions a one-year unlimited internet subscription and an artificial intelligence solution, IA Edu, in partnership with the start-up Afrik'IA.
Similar to the action taken in Mbour, the Ecobank Group is mobilizing all of its subsidiaries around a common vision. Thus, a pan-African webinar was organized on October 9, 2025, in partnership with the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), around the theme: "Can technology break down barriers to inclusive education?", bringing together experts, teachers, NGOs and parents to explore the role of assistive technologies and local communities in building a more equitable education.
