«Elle m'avait énervé» : les aveux glaçants du serveur qui a tué au coupe-coupe sa compagne
O. Sadio, a waiter in Cap-Skirring, appeared before the Ziguinchor Criminal Court for the murder of his partner, Binta Diatta, also known as Binta Fall, which occurred on February 10, 2024, in their apartment in the Montagne neighborhood. The accused confessed to the crime in court, admitting to using a machete.
Quoted by L'Observateur, he declared: "I admit to having killed my girlfriend Binta Diatta, also known as Binta Fall, who had angered me. I used a machete to commit the irreparable," before adding, visibly overwhelmed: "I don't even know how I could have done that."
After the events, recounts the daily newspaper of Groupe Futurs Médias (GFM), which attended the trial, O. Sadio turned himself in to the Cap-Skirring Territorial Brigade. "It was 3:45 p.m. when the man stated that he had discovered the lifeless body of his partner in the apartment they shared in the Montagne district."
But the investigators' inquiries quickly uncovered several incriminating elements. At the scene, the police found the victim lying face down on a mattress, "partially covered with a sheet." Injuries were visible on the head, right jaw, right ear, neck, and left forearm.
During the search, investigators found a machete lying on the roof of a room, bearing traces of blood, as well as a pair of multicolored wax-print panties. This garment was subsequently identified by the victim's sister as belonging to the accused.
The autopsy, for its part, concluded that death was caused by a major hemorrhage resulting from a deep wound to the neck.
During the hearing, according to the Gfm headline, Binta Diatta's older sister also stated that the accused regularly subjected her sister to physical violence before the tragedy.
The same source reports that the prosecutor, considering the facts clearly established, requested a sentence of twenty years of hard labor for the accused. For its part, the defense argued for the charges to be reduced to "intentional assault and battery," maintaining the absence of premeditation and requesting mitigating circumstances. "Premeditation has not been established. My client is an unhappy man; he has never had any dealings with the law. He killed his partner out of love," the lawyer argued.
The criminal court has taken the case under advisement. The verdict is expected on July 1st.
