Emploi des jeunes : Les ouvriers de Thiès plaident pour des formations et des parcelles foncières
The Association of Local Workers of Thiès has launched a strong appeal to the municipal authorities and the State for more structured support for youth employment and skills development.
The association, already active in the field of vocational training, claims to have trained nearly 50 young people in the refrigeration and air conditioning sector. This has enabled several beneficiaries to become job-ready.
Despite these advances, its leaders believe that institutional support remains insufficient to sustain and expand their activities. They are therefore calling for the implementation of more extensive training programs and technical and financial support from public authorities.
It is within this context that the association raised a crucial request concerning the allocation of plots of land for the establishment of workshops and training centers. Access to a dedicated space would, according to its members, allow them to structure their activities, train more young people, and create sustainable jobs in the region.
