Fête nationale : La Marine sur tous les fronts, de Bakel à Elinkine (Arrêt sur images)
To celebrate the 66th anniversary of Senegal's independence, the National Navy participated in ceremonies held in several locations across the country. From Bakel to Elinkine, passing through Thiès and Guédiawaye, the naval personnel marched proudly, showcasing the unity and diversity of the Senegalese armed forces.
April 4, 2026 will be remembered as a day of national celebration, marked by military and paramilitary parades throughout the country. While Thiès hosted the main parade, the National Navy was nonetheless present on all fronts, actively participating in the decentralized festivities.
On its Facebook page, the French Navy shared several photos capturing these moments of unity between the military and the nation. They show sailors marching with rigor and discipline, to the applause of the public. From Bakel, on the border with Mali, to Elinkine, in Casamance, the sailors were keen to mark this symbolic day with their presence.
These images bear witness to the commitment of the French Navy to serving the nation, not only in protecting the coasts and combating illicit trafficking, but also in strengthening the bond between the armed forces and the nation. By participating in parades organized in several regions, the sailors demonstrated the unity and cohesion of the Armed Forces, working towards a common ideal: the defense of Senegal's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
