There is a new development in the case of the 13-year-old girl found raped, murdered, and then abandoned in an unfinished building. As part of the investigation, the Saly Research Brigade, under the Mbour gendarmerie company, brought in the local shopkeeper, AK Ba, and the driver of an unlicensed taxi, N. Fall, who were both detained by the investigating judge of the second chamber, in accordance with the preliminary indictment of Prosecutor Augustin Yakhar Faye, head of the Petite-Côte prosecutor's office.
Acting on a warrant issued by the same investigating magistrate, the gendarmes of the Saly Brigade were informed that the main suspect, AK Ba, held the keys to a house belonging to a European couple. According to information shared with investigators, the shopkeeper would visit this same property during the couple's trips abroad with their 13-year-old daughter, M. Diouf. Armed with this crucial information, the gendarmes extracted Ba from the detainee's custody and took him to the house, located near where M. Diouf's body was found. The shopkeeper had a guest room in the house, according to exclusive information obtained by Seneweb.
Arriving at their destination in an unmarked vehicle, the plainclothes police officers were greeted by a Belgian couple who confirmed that the suspect Ba was occupying one of the rooms in the house to provide security.
When questioned under oath, the two spouses stated that they had expelled shopkeeper Ba because of his behavior, in particular because he stayed there with his brother, regularly received young girls, consumed alcohol and smoked Indian hemp in the room.
Investigators showed the couple a photo of the deceased Ms. Diouf to help with identification. The Belgian couple immediately recognized the girl and revealed that they had previously seen her in the company of the main suspect, AK Ba, in his room.
Confronted with new evidence, shopkeeper AK Ba finally admitted his romantic relationship with the 13-year-old girl. He led investigators to the unfinished building where the body had been discovered. There, the suspect indicated where Mr. Diouf had been. However, the detainee attempted to deny any involvement in the murder.
The investigators, who are very experienced in criminal investigations, noted numerous contradictions in his version of events.
From his arrest until his appearance before Prosecutor Faye, AK Ba had tried to claim that he only knew the girl as a customer of his shop. After the Belgian couple's testimony, the main suspect confessed to his romantic relationship with Mr. Diouf and their shared presence at the crime scene.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Ba was brought before the investigating judge of the second chamber before being placed in his prison cell. Like the shopkeeper, the unlicensed taxi driver N. Fall is formally implicated in the murder, according to the investigation by the Saly Criminal Investigation Brigade. During his interrogation, he tried to claim that he had left the shop at 2:00 PM on the day of the crime to return to Mbour. His version was refuted by the consistent evidence gathered by the gendarmes of this elite unit of the Mbour company. The unlicensed taxi driver was at the scene of the crime from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, according to the results of the requisitions sent to a telephone company.

The medical examiner's report indicates that the body shows clear signs of violence: swelling and bruising on the face, bilateral conjunctival hemorrhage, tongue protrusion, and nasal and oral bleeding, typical of mechanical asphyxia. A strangulation mark is visible on the neck, caused by a scarf tied tightly in a knot at the back. Abrasions and contusions are noted on several parts of the body. The report also notes a ruptured hymen and swelling of the left labia, confirming rape.
The cause of death is mechanical asphyxiation by strangulation with a rope, associated with defloration lesions confirming a prior rape according to Seneweb sources close to the Mbour High Court.
