Fimela : Deux passeurs présumés arrêtés avec une pirogue et 47 bidons de carburant
As part of the fight against irregular migration, the Fimela territorial brigade arrested two individuals of Senegalese nationality on May 5, 2026, at around 5 p.m., who are allegedly involved in migrant trafficking, Seneweb learned from Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye.
According to the information gathered, this operation is part of the strengthening of surveillance and prevention measures put in place by the defense and security forces to combat clandestine departures to Europe.
During the operation, the gendarmes from the brigade seized a large quantity of equipment intended, according to investigators, for organizing an irregular maritime journey. The inventory of seized equipment includes a dugout canoe, a 15-horsepower outboard motor, and 47 20-liter jerrycans of fuel for the outboard motor.
The two suspects have been taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing to identify any accomplices and dismantle the network involved in this attempted irregular migration.
