Flou autour de 7 milliards F CFA : les explications de Ferdinand Coly
Last April, the Court of Auditors published its final report on the contract for the supply of agricultural equipment and the construction of a workshop and agricultural warehouses. Upon reviewing the file, the auditors discovered that, in the course of contract execution, the Spanish company Intermaq 2012 SL paid Intermaq Sénégal SA 358% more than the amount invoiced for the services. Libération, which broke the story, revealed that 16,425,077,000 CFA francs were transferred instead of the 4,584,568,748 CFA francs that had been withheld.
Former general coordinator of Intermaq Senegal SA, retired footballer Ferdinand Coly, has been summoned by the Court of Auditors regarding "three disbursements" totaling 7.2 billion CFA francs. According to Libération, the former captain of the Lions of Teranga asserted that the funds "were entirely handed over to Mr. Saïdou Amadou Kane, the company's general manager, in the presence of the latter's driver, Mr. Mamadou Ousmane Fall." "Mr. Coly stated that he did not know the destination of the funds given to Mr. Kane," the report, cited by the newspaper, emphasizes.
Continuing their investigation, the auditors noted that Saïdou Amadou Kane received two transfers of 7.2 billion CFA francs into his personal account at FBN Bank. The Court of Auditors revealed that significant sums were withdrawn from Kane's account to fund those of his wife (1.3 billion CFA francs), his two minor children (500 million CFA francs each), and his driver (567 million CFA francs). The report also indicates that 2.86 billion CFA francs was transferred to another account opened in the name of the CEO of Intermaq Senegal SA.
