Fraude aux SMS internationaux au préjudice de la Sonatel : la BR de Faidherbe interpelle cinq Pakistanais à Ngor
Following a complaint from Sonatel, the Dakar Gendarmerie's Research Brigade dismantled a fraudulent system for diverting international SMS traffic. Five Pakistani nationals were arrested in the Ngor area, and a significant quantity of technical equipment was seized, according to Seneweb sources.

It all began with a complaint filed by Sonatel, reporting the existence of a fraudulent system diverting international SMS traffic to the local Senegalese network, causing significant financial losses for the operator. Based on this complaint, investigators from the Dakar Gendarmerie's Research Brigade and Sonatel's technical specialists jointly conducted a thorough investigation.
Five Pakistanis were arrested at a site located in Ngor.
The exploitation of technical data made it possible to precisely locate a site operating in the Ngor area of Dakar. An operation was immediately mounted. It resulted in the arrest of five individuals, all of Pakistani nationality, and the seizure of a large arsenal of technical equipment: laptops, SIMBOX type GSM gateways, GSM modems, internet routers, VOIP communication boxes, several mobile phones, a large quantity of SIM cards from different telephone operators, as well as various digital storage media and computer accessories.
This operation is part of the fight against serious crime led by the National Gendarmerie, according to a statement signed by Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye.
