Goudiry : Une famille décimée au retour de condoléances, le bilan lourd d'une collision fatale
We now know a little more about the accident that occurred yesterday, April 4th, around 6:30 PM, on National Route 1, two kilometers from the eastern exit of the village of Féténiébé (Goudiry commune), involving a car and a tricycle. According to the initial findings of the investigation, the Mercedes-Benz was driven by Mr. B. Fall, owner of the Boundou pharmacy. He was returning from France and heading back to Kidira.
It was upon arriving two kilometers from the eastern exit of the village of Féténiébé that he lost control of his vehicle. The car then skidded before colliding with a tricycle carrying nine people. The occupants of the tricycle were returning to the village of Sinthiou Demba, in the commune of Koussan, after having visited another locality to offer condolences.
Due to the force of the impact, three (03) deaths were recorded instantly. They are A. Fofana, born in 1987 in Sinthiou Boubou, H. Sy, aged 60 and originally from Sinthiou Moussa, and B. Fall, born in 1967 in Kaolack, owner of the Boundou pharmacy and driver of the vehicle.
The injured are O. Sy (55 years old), O. Diallo (54 years old), H. Boulo Sy (58 years old), S. Diallo (40 years old), M. Diallo (30 years old), and H. Diallo (a seven-month-old infant), all born in Sinthiou Moussa, as well as S. Sow (35 years old), born in Gourel Yoro. The victims are currently at the Tambacounda Regional Hospital after receiving initial treatment at the Goudiry Health District. The gendarmerie has opened an investigation.
