The urban security elements of the central police station of Guédiawaye were alerted this Wednesday afternoon by the firefighters of the discovery of a lifeless body in a home in the Diounkhop district, opposite school 25 of Guédiawaye.

Arriving at the scene around 3 p.m., police discovered the lifeless body of Mr. Dione, 51 years old. According to information gathered at the scene, the victim had been staying with his friend, Mr. Khouma, for about two weeks. Mr. Khouma told investigators that Dione suffered from hypertension, stomach problems, and back pain; ailments he had mentioned to him a few days earlier.

It was Mr. Khouma's wife, O. Diallo, who discovered the body. She told the police that in the morning, Mr. Dione had told her he was suffering from stomach pains and had asked her to prepare lakh for him for lunch.

After knocking unsuccessfully on the bedroom door, she entered to find Mr. Dione lying on the tiled floor between the bed and the wardrobe. Without touching him, she alerted her husband, who advised her to call the fire department.

During the initial investigation, detectives discovered medication on the prayer rug in the room. However, no signs of violence or suspicious evidence were found on the body or in the room, according to Seneweb sources close to the case.

After informing prosecutor Saliou Dicko, who ordered the opening of an investigation to elucidate the exact causes of death, a request to a qualified person was established.
