HLM : Un chauffeur ivre sème la terreur à bord de son bus Tata
A driver on Tata bus route 75 was arrested by police this Tuesday afternoon at the HLM (Housing Housing) for dangerous driving and public insults. The man, visibly under the influence of alcohol, terrorized his passengers.
The incident took place around 1:30 p.m. The members of the urban police force assigned to the Rail-bi HLM took a driver to the Biscuiterie-HLM district police station for drunk driving, public insults and endangering the lives of others. The accused, Mr. Ndiaye, 45, driver of a Tata bus on line 75 and residing in Bène Barack, was operating the Colobane - Malika shuttle when the incident occurred.
According to passengers, near the Guédiawaye garage, the driver attempted to overtake another Tata bus on route 33 in particularly dangerous conditions. This reckless maneuver caused a passenger to be pushed, who allegedly called the driver an "idiot" and "irresponsible."
Stung, Mr. Ndiaye reportedly responded with a barrage of insults and profanities. Far from stopping there, the driver got out at each stop to try to physically attack the woman. Another passenger intervened to reprimand the driver. But instead of pulling himself together, the driver extended his insults to all the passengers in the vehicle. Even worse, he began driving erratically and dangerously, deliberately endangering the lives of his customers.
Police intervention
Arriving at the Rail-bi housing project, the passengers, exasperated and fearing for their safety, alerted the city police officers present on site, who arrested the driver. Once at the police station, investigators found that Mr. Ndiaye was indeed drunk. The bus was stopped for the purposes of the investigation and legal proceedings were initiated.
