The Sicap Keur Massar neighborhood of Niague is the scene of an infanticide case that has shaken the community. F.Aw, a domestic worker originally from Bambey, was brought before the Rufisque prosecutor's office on Monday, according to Seneweb sources.

 

The secret to an unwanted pregnancy

 

It all begins with a love affair between F.Aw, a 21-year-old cleaning woman, and Bilimou, a merchant at the Boubess market. When the young woman becomes pregnant, the romance turns into conflict: her lover categorically refuses to acknowledge paternity. Alone and terrified of being rejected by her employer and loved ones, she chooses to conceal her condition until the very end.

 

Giving birth alone in the toilet

 

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, around 8 p.m., fate took a dramatic turn. Overcome by excruciating pain, F.Aw secluded herself in the first-floor bathroom of the villa where she worked. It was in this complete silence that she gave birth to a boy alone.

 

In a desperate attempt to conceal the child's existence, she placed the newborn in plastic bags, carried the package onto the terrace, and covered it with a bucket. She hoped that her actions would go unnoticed.

 

The secret lasted only three days. On Friday, April 17, a man living in the same house, intrigued by the sudden physical change of their maid—no longer pregnant but without a baby—finally inspected the house. At 6:30 p.m., he made the gruesome discovery on the terrace and immediately went to the Niague Special Brigade to report the crime.

 

Upon arrival at the scene, the gendarmes and firefighters from Keur Massar discovered the lifeless body, already in an advanced state of decomposition. On the instructions of Prosecutor Cheikh Diakhoumpa, head of the Rufisque prosecutor's office, the child was buried on site.

 

During her questioning by investigators, the accused admitted to the acts, explaining that she had acted under the weight of shame and abandonment.
