Intempéries à Sédhiou : Un bébé tué dans l'effondrement d'une maison à Bloc Chantier
A terrible tragedy occurred in the village of Bloc Chantier, located in the department of Sédhiou, following heavy rains accompanied by violent winds recorded yesterday, Monday afternoon, and which persisted until the early morning of this Tuesday.
According to information gathered on site, the roof of a house belonging to the Diédhiou family was literally torn off by the force of the gusts. In the aftermath, part of the building's wall collapsed, falling directly onto the bed where a baby less than a year old was sleeping.
Alerted by the cries, emergency services and relatives quickly tried to intervene to extract and save the child. Unfortunately, the infant succumbed to his serious injuries. This tragedy has plunged the Diédhiou family into deep sorrow and sparked strong emotions among the local population.
