Journée de solidarité : les femmes de la LONASE mobilisées pour les pouponnières
The Association of Women of the Senegalese National Lottery (AFLO) concluded the third edition of its Solidarity Day with a day of social action. After actions carried out in Tivaouane, notably at the Daara Mouhamadou Mansour Sy Borom Daradji, then in Thiès at the "Sourire d'un bébé" orphanage, the delegation went to Nianing, in the commune of Malicounda (department of Mbour), to help the Sainte-Marie du Cœur girls' orphanage.

This initiative, dedicated to mutual aid and solidarity towards vulnerable groups, has provided significant support to the structure.

On behalf of the Association, President Seynabou Cissé expressed their concern for the situation of the children cared for at this facility, particularly those without family or parental support. She commended the work of the staff, especially the director, Sister Marthe Odile Marie Ndiaye Sarr, for her daily commitment to the care, health, and safety of the young children.

"We are here as mothers and as women, sensitive to the daily lives of these little ones deprived of mothers and families. To the babies, I wish them a long life, that they grow up in peace and good health. AFLO is at the heart of social welfare. These children are the future. Among them, there are certainly doctors, magistrates and even, who knows, a future president of the Republic. We have a moral duty to come and support these children," she said, her voice filled with emotion.

As part of this high-impact social initiative, under the banner of corporate social responsibility (CSR), several in-kind donations were made. These contributions included milk, cereal, sugar, soap, diapers, oil, shoes, and baby care products, among other things, intended to improve the living conditions of children.

The director of the Nianing orphanage expressed her deep gratitude for this act of solidarity. She noted that the facility primarily cares for three categories of children: motherless children, abandoned children, and children whose mothers suffer from serious or mental illnesses.

With a capacity of 40 children, the nursery receives residents referred by the Open Environment Educational Action (AEMO) services of Senegal, without distinction of race, ethnicity, or religion. Despite the lack of state funding, the facility continues its mission of protection and support thanks to the support of benefactors.

The LONASE Women's Association announced the continuation of its social initiatives and invited everyone to the fourth annual Solidarity Day next year, reaffirming its long-term commitment to vulnerable populations. The delegation also thanked the Director General of LONASE, Mr. Toussaint Manga, and the entire senior management team for their ongoing support in carrying out these social initiatives.
