Journées Mondiales de la Jeunesse à Nianing : la Sen’Eau assure une desserte en eau sans faille

On the occasion of the World Youth Days (WYD) organised at the Saint-Jean de Nianing college, Sen'Eau deployed a major system to guarantee optimal access to drinking water throughout the event.

According to Mansour Khouma, Sen'Eau's territorial director for the Mbour–Petite-Côte area, all necessary measures have been taken in advance to effectively meet the needs of the pilgrims.

"Our main mission was to ensure optimal water distribution. To this end, all water points and accommodation sites were reactivated to allow free access to water throughout the event," he explained.

A large-scale technical and human resource system

To reinforce this system, Sen'Eau has deployed five mobile water tankers, in addition to fixed tanks strategically positioned in key areas. Simultaneously, network expansion work has begun to broaden access to drinking water. To date, more than 1,100 linear meters of pipes have already been laid, enabling the connection of new subscribers.

“All requests from the organizing committee were 100% met. The outcome is very positive, especially since no incidents related to water supply were recorded,” Mr. Khouma rejoiced.

A team of approximately 30 agents, composed of technicians and sales representatives, was mobilized in the field to ensure distribution, monitoring of water quality and assistance to users.

Support and citizenship

In addition to the technical aspects, Sen'Eau implemented a support system for the pilgrims. Welcome booths were set up to inform participants about the company's services, including digital payment and water access procedures. As part of this initiative, kits containing vests, t-shirts, and other promotional items were distributed to members of the organizing committee, security personnel, reception staff, and the pilgrims themselves.

Finally, Mansour Khouma stressed that these actions are part of a comprehensive policy to support major events, backed by the State of Senegal, with the continuation of network expansion projects in the Nianing area and beyond.
