Kaël (Mbacké) : Parfum à 1,5 million F CFA et mercure à 2,5 millions F CFA, l'arnaque mystique d'un chef de village
The local gendarmerie brigade in Kaël, in the department of Mbacké, arrested a group of fraudsters specializing in counterfeiting banknotes.
Among the suspects are the village chief, AB, the shopkeeper, HB, and a 65-year-old charlatan. All three are accused of defrauding the mobile phone vendor, Ousmane, who lives in Kaolack. Ousmane, who had plans to travel abroad, had been put in contact with the village chief, AB, who claims to be a marabout capable of solving his problems.
Instead of helping him with his travel plans, the self-proclaimed marabout first ordered several sacrifices and mystical baths intended to mentally influence his victim. Once under his psychological control, he promised to make his money grow in exchange for 5 million CFA francs, according to Seneweb sources.
For the first phase of the payment, the fake marabout demanded that Ousmane present two suitcases, each containing one million CFA francs. He then put him in contact with an accomplice merchant, claiming that the latter was the only one who could supply a perfume worth 1.5 million CFA francs, which he said was essential for the success of the operation.
Having collected the money, the trio of swindlers continued their scheme by asking the victim to buy mercury for an amount of 2.5 million CFA francs.
Awareness raised and intervention by the police
It was only after this final payment that Ousmane realized he had been scammed. He then contacted the Kaël police brigade, who quickly planned an operation to apprehend the three fraudsters.
At the end of the investigation, the three suspects were brought before the Diourbel High Court last Friday.

Ô gens, écoutez la parabole suivante et déduisez-en une leçon: Les idoles et autres divinités que vous adorez à la place d’Allah ne sont pas capables de créer ne serait-ce qu’une mouche, même s’ils s’y associaient. Si la mouche leur prenait quelque chose de ce qui leur appartient, comme du parfum ou autre, ils ne sauraient le lui reprendre. Leur impuissance à créer une mouche et à lui reprendre ce qu’elle leur enlève, prouve leur impuissance à réaliser ce qui est plus compliqué que cela. Comment adorez-vous donc au lieu d’Allah des divinités impuissantes ? Vos idoles sont aussi faibles que la mouche qu’elles sont incapables de créer.
