Kafountine : l'adjointe au maire et cinq agents municipaux déférés
A veritable system for "selling" Senegalese nationality has been uncovered by the National Directorate for Combating Migrant Smuggling (DNLT). The first deputy mayor of Kafountine, D. Sambou, along with several municipal employees and civil registrars, were brought before the Public Prosecutor in Ziguinchor on Monday, reports L'Observateur, citing its sources.
The investigation was triggered by a routine check at the Kidira border post. Mr. Sawadogo, a Burkinabe national, was apprehended there in possession of two identity documents: one authentic Burkinabe, the other a Senegalese one deemed fraudulent. Questioned by investigators in Ziguinchor, he confessed to having acquired this Senegalese identity under the name "Mr. Sadio" using "birth certificate number 338 from 1983" in order to evade local taxes and facilitate his professional activities in Senegal, the same source reports.
The investigation revealed the existence of a structured network and a well-oiled modus operandi within the Kafountine town hall. Fictitious birth certificates were fraudulently inserted into official records, with the invention of "adoptive parents" to lend credibility to the files. The first deputy mayor then validated these documents without any prior verification.
This civil registry mafia involved, in addition to the deputy mayor, the head of the civil registry office, Mr. Sagna, and four other municipal employees. Searches uncovered illegal entries and alterations in the archives dating from 1977 to 2016. To date, eight registers have been sealed by the courts, according to sources speaking to the newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias.
During their interrogations, the accused partially admitted to the facts while attempting to shift the blame. While the municipal employees confessed to acting for financial gain due to their low salaries, D. Sambou, for his part, admitted to signing fictitious documents, claiming it was a "common practice" within the institution.

Si je comprends bien, le SUD du pays est une zone qui prepare les futurs dangers pour notre pays. DOnc un delinquant, un criminel, un terroriste ou je ne sais qui encore, peut tranquillement mettre la main à la poche et devenir un senegalais jouissant de tous les droits???

* Faire un audit approfondi et refaire les carte d'identité sur la base du certificat de nationalité et ramener le nom du père et de la mère.
* Instaurer un titre de séjour pour les étranger avec paiement d'impôt annuel selon le pays et leur nombre sur le sol sénégalais.
* Sensibiliser les populations et les encourager à dénoncer ces pratiques.
C'est une affaire très sérieuse. Nos futurs petits enfants risque d'être des étrangers dans leur propre pays et pourront souffrir des germes que certains sont entrains de semer.
