Kanouméry : Un éboulement fait un mort dans la nuit
A deadly landslide occurred last night in Kanouméry, a village in the commune of Tomboronkoto. The tragedy happened around 10 p.m., plunging the residents of this village in the Kédougou department into shock and dismay.
According to initial reports from the scene, the landslide has claimed the life of one person whose identity has not yet been officially released. The exact circumstances of the accident are still under investigation.
Alerted shortly after the incident, officers from the local gendarmerie brigade in Mako quickly arrived at the scene. They carried out the standard procedures and secured the area to prevent any further incidents. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the landslide.
This new tragedy raises the issue of safety in certain areas exposed to the risk of landslides, particularly during periods of intense activity related to artisanal mining or work in unstable terrain.
