Kaolack : Installation officielle du nouveau Chef de Département du Port par le DG du PAD
As part of the decentralization and performance strategy of the Autonomous Port of Dakar (PAD), Director General Waly Diouf Bodiang officially installed the new Head of the Port of Kaolack Department on Wednesday, April 15. This marks a decisive step in the ambition to make this infrastructure a major economic hub for the central region.
The Port of Kaolack is changing dimensions. Under the effective chairmanship of the Regional Governor, Mr. Mouhamadou Mactar Watt, and in the presence of local socio-economic actors, the new head of the port, Mr. Abdoulaye Sogue, took office during a solemn ceremony.
For the PAD's General Management, this installation is not a mere administrative formality. It reflects a firm commitment to "strengthening governance and driving new operational momentum." By entrusting the leadership of the department to Mr. Sogue, the Director General, Mr. Waly Diouf Bodiang, reiterates the importance of anchoring port activities in the region.
This mission to Kaolack underscores the modernization vision championed by the Autonomous Port of Dakar, aiming to transform regional ports into true "key drivers of economic development." The stated objective is clear: to improve territorial integration in order to enhance performance and overall competitiveness.
The strong mobilization of administrative authorities and private partners at this event testifies to the strategic importance of the Saloum River for national trade. This facility is seen by local stakeholders as a sign of accelerated investment and improved coordination of the flow of goods from Kaolack.
