Kédougou : Le feu« Seytane » ravage le village de Hamadihéry
A violent fire broke out in the village of Hamadihéry, located in the commune of Bandafassi (Kédougou region), causing significant material damage and plunging several families into total disarray.
According to information gathered from a resident, Amadou Moh Pinda Foula, contacted by telephone, the fire appears to have been caused by natural phenomena. In the local area, this type of phenomenon is commonly referred to as "seytane" by the population, in reference to spontaneous fires that are particularly feared during the dry season.
The toll is heavy: at least five rooms were completely reduced to ashes. The flames, of exceptional intensity, left the occupants no chance of saving their belongings. Crops, clothing, and personal effects were totally destroyed, exacerbating the vulnerability of the affected families who are now left with nothing.
Faced with this dramatic situation, the victims are making an urgent appeal for national solidarity. They are requesting support from the authorities and all those of goodwill to address the food emergency and begin rebuilding their homes.
In a context marked by precarious living conditions, this fire serves as a stark reminder of the need to strengthen prevention and assistance mechanisms in isolated rural areas. While awaiting an official response, collective action remains the primary hope for these families who have lost everything.
