Kédougou : Trois individus interpellés pour trafic de drogue à Bantaco
The Kédougou Regional Narcotics Brigade (OCTRIS) has struck a major blow in the fight against drug trafficking. This weekend, its members arrested three suspected traffickers in Bantaco, a town in the Kédougou department.
According to the information gathered, the accused were in possession of a large batch of prohibited products and various objects, including:
• 66 Indian hemp cones,
• 17 Tramadol tablets,
• 3 ready-to-use joints,
• a set of plastic bags and a pair of scissors,
• 4 cell phones,
• a motorcycle,
• as well as a sum of 20,000 FCFA.
The three suspects were immediately taken into custody. The investigation, opened by the relevant services, is continuing in order to determine the extent of the network and identify possible accomplices.
This operation confirms OCTRIS's determination to stem drug trafficking in the Kédougou region, an area often singled out as a transit corridor for various illicit trafficking routes.
