Keur Massar : un homme arrêté par la Sûreté urbaine avec un pistolet après une course-poursuite
According to Seneweb sources, officers from the Anti-Crime Brigade (BLC) of the Urban Security division of the Central Police Station in Dakar arrested an individual carrying a firearm after a chase in Keur Massar.
According to reports, the incident occurred during a routine patrol in the area. Police officers spotted a man whose demeanor they deemed suspicious. As they approached for a check, he fled, triggering a chase. He was eventually apprehended and subdued.
A pat-down of him revealed a 9mm caliber automatic pistol, brand Zoraki M 28087 T, without ammunition.
Taken to the station, the suspect was identified by the initials DS, aged 60, a livestock seller residing in Malika.
When questioned about the origin of the weapon, DS stated that he acquired it on the black market in Dahra for 15,000 FCFA from a street vendor whom he claims not to be able to recognize.
He admitted that he had no administrative authorization to possess this weapon, specifying that it was intended for his personal protection.
An investigation has been launched to clarify the circumstances of this detention and to identify the alleged supplier.
