Keur Mbaye Fall is in shock after a terrible tragedy. In its Wednesday, May 20th edition, the daily newspaper L'Observateur reports that Moustapha Samb, a 38-year-old hardware store manager, was found dead in the room he rented near the Djouma Dji bus stop. The grim discovery was made Tuesday afternoon by the victim's father.
The attackers' modus operandi
According to testimonies gathered at the scene, the victim was allegedly surprised by his executioners who "first found him at his workplace, in his hardware store, before taking him to his room, where he was allegedly tied up and then killed."
Investigators are focusing on the theory that the crime was committed by a group. Indeed, the manager, "of rather heavy build, could not have been overpowered by a single person," suggesting the presence of several assailants.
An investigation is underway.
For now, according to the daily newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias (GFM), the motive for the crime remains a mystery. "Until press time, no further details have emerged concerning the precise circumstances or the motive for the tragedy."
The gendarmerie in the Free Zone has taken up the case and opened an investigation to try to shed light on this affair. However, "no arrests have been reported so far," the same source emphasizes.
