KORITÉ A TAMBACOUNDA : L'imam Ratib dénonce le mensonge et la trahison
This Saturday, the overwhelming majority of the Muslim community of Tamba celebrated Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the month of Ramadan this year 2026. It was in the presence of many faithful draped in their finest boubous, and administrative and territorial authorities.
Presiding over the two-rak'ah prayer, Imam Ratib El Hadj Thierno Souleymane Agne, in his sermon, emphasized the negative behaviors and values that Muslims and all citizens must reject. These include lying and betrayal.
The imam urged Muslims and citizens to avoid such behavior in social interactions and to cultivate sincerity and trust. Imam Ratib also emphasized the importance of the month of Ramadan, Zakat, and especially the Korité festival, which marks the end of Ramadan. "Above all, we must give thanks to Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala)," he said.
In his conclusions, Imam Agne prayed for a rainy winter for record productions or harvests in order to reduce poverty, especially food insecurity, which continues to plague parts of the region.
Representing the Head of State at this prayer, the Governor of the Tambacounda region, Guedj Diouf, believes that everyone should meditate on this sermon but also take into account this invitation from the Imam in order to hope to live in a society where trust and sincerity will reign.
