Le secteur primaire annonce une grève générale de 48 heures renouvelable

The inter-union of the primary sector, a member of the inter-union of administration workers, has decided to toughen its protest movement against the government, due to the non-payment of the housing allowance.

Welcoming the strong mobilization of workers and the strict adherence to the fourth action plan last week, in conjunction with the Federation of Health Unions, union leaders denounce what they describe as contempt and delaying tactics on the part of the government, which they accuse of refusing any frank discussion with union organizations.

According to them, no clear explanation has been provided as to the reasons for the non-payment of the housing allowance, despite several appeals.

Faced with workers they say are determined and aware of their rights, union leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continue the struggle until the State fully respects its commitments, including the immediate payment of housing allowances.

The inter-union group representing the primary sector also denounced the requisitioning of workers ordered by the Ministers of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Livestock, Dr. Mabouba Diagne, and Fisheries and Maritime Economy, Dr. Fatou Diouf. These decisions are considered regrettable and perceived as a confrontational stance, especially since workers have been on strike for nearly three weeks without being received by the authorities to engage in responsible dialogue.

Following the general assembly, a clear mandate was given to union leaders to continue and intensify the struggle. As a result, the primary sector decided to declare a 48-hour renewable general strike, beginning Tuesday, December 23, 2025, across the entire national territory.

In addition, the Inter-union of Administration Workers and the Federation of Health Unions have announced a joint 48-hour general strike, scheduled for December 30 and 31, 2025.

The unions are once again calling on the government to immediately pay the housing allowance. Otherwise, they warn that the protest movement will continue and that more vigorous action plans could be launched as early as January if the government persists in its inaction.
