Levée des blocages opérationnels des projets Mamelles et PROGEP-Phase 2 : Les instructions du Premier ministre
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko put two issues on the table during Wednesday's Council of Ministers meeting, pointing to operational blockages that are hindering strategic projects for the State.
He addressed the difficulties encountered at the Mamelles seawater desalination plant, which is facing "a funding shortfall of six billion." In response to this situation, he "urged the Minister of Finance and Budget to work on an urgent solution."
The second issue concerns the Stormwater Management Project (PROGEP) – Phase 2, which has been affected by delays in contract approvals. The Prime Minister has instructed the Minister of Finance and Budget and the Central Directorate of Public Procurement (DCMP) to ensure strict adherence to the legal deadlines stipulated by the Public Procurement Code.
Ousmane Sonko was keen to establish a firm principle, recalling that "the speed of the control and regulatory bodies cannot constitute a factor of slowing down for the State's priority projects".
