MONCAP Health and Social Protection, an organization affiliated with the ruling PASTEF party, has expressed its "deep dismay" following the dismissal of the Director General of Health, Professor Ousmane Cissé.In a statement published on April 15, 2026, the organization deemed this decision "brutal and incomprehensible," stating it is "devoid of any objective basis."In this regard, MONCAP claims it does not understand the real motivations behind his removal and directly points the finger at the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, Dr. Ibrahima Sy, whom it accuses of pursuing "a systematic destabilization campaign" against its senior officials.According to the statement, since his appointment to lead the ministry, Mr. Sy has been implementing a "policy of gradual exclusion" of key players who played a decisive role in the health sector's efforts.Furthermore, MONCAP alleges a "reshuffling to favor close associates" of the minister, exemplified by the appointment of members from the former regime to strategic positions. The organization also laments an "abandonment" of its health program in favor of a "unilateral agenda."MONCAP announced it will soon hold a press conference to provide further clarification on the situation and outline its future course of action.
