Litige foncier à Khar Yalla : Le député Guy Marius Sagna au chevet de 22 familles
In Dakar, a land dispute is causing concern and confusion in the Khar Yalla neighborhood. At least 22 families claim they are threatened with losing the land they have lived on for over fifty years.
According to testimonies gathered by MP Guy Marius Sagna, these families say they bought these plots of land in the early 1970s and built their houses on them. For decades, they occupied the land without any apparent objection.
But recently, someone came forward claiming to own the land, alleging that the occupants had settled there illegally. This situation has plunged these families into great anxiety.
Alerted by residents, the parliamentarian went to the site to speak with them. He said he met families who were "stressed, harassed and worried," but also determined to defend their rights.
The MP pledged to support them so that the truth about this case could be fully revealed. He is particularly interested in the circumstances under which a supposed owner could have allowed families to settle and build for over half a century before claiming ownership of the land.
