Littérature : Pape Malick Thiam immortalise le génie de Doudou Ndiaye Coumba Rose dans un nouvel ouvrage
Less than two years after his first book dedicated to former Prime Minister Aminata Touré, Senegalese journalist Pape Malick Thiam has published, with L'Harmattan Sénégal, a portrait entitled "Doudou Ndiaye Coumba Rose." Across 132 pages, the author paints a portrait of the man he calls a "master of rhythms," retracing an exceptional career that has successfully blended tradition and modernity, from the stages of Dakar to the world's major capitals.
The book explores the artistic eclecticism of an avant-garde creator whose resonance "immediately captures the heart and recalls the richness of African culture."
Pape Malick Thiam portrays a true conductor, capable, with his baton alone, of transforming wind into sound and sound into emotion. The book doesn't limit itself to the musical aspect; it explores the close ties the artist maintained with cinema, dance, and instruments, while also revealing the man behind the legend. We discover a loving and generous father, deeply attached to his family, to which he gave "true meaning."
The author's background brings invaluable documentary rigor to this heritage project. Trained at CESTI and a graduate in legal sciences from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Pape Malick Thiam currently works at Deutsche Welle in Germany, while also pursuing further studies in international journalism at the University of Tours. His expert writing allows him to unfold the story of a genius whose name "still resonates today like his rhythms," offering readers an immersive experience that spans the Sabar region and the international stages of Paris, Tokyo, and Washington.
