Magal de Darou Mouhty : Deux pèlerins arrêtés à Touba avec de l'ecstasy ("souss")
The officers of the Gouy-Mbind police station, under the command of Lieutenant Pape Demba Diouf, arrested two individuals for possession for the purpose of using ecstasy, on February 5, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. They are ID, 22 years old, a driver from Jakarta, and PMG, 30 years old, both residing in Ngaye Mékhé and passing through Touba.
Police officers conducting traffic stops on the Bélel coastal road noticed the suspicious behavior of two individuals on a motorcycle coming from the Magal of Darou Mouhty. The two men attempted a U-turn on the road, which drew the attention of the officers, who then apprehended them.
During the search, one of the suspects refused to comply and threw away a bag containing pills, according to Seneweb sources. Questioned at the police station, both men admitted to the charges against them.
A requisition order, including a sample of a tablet containing the seized substances, was sent to the Drug Analysis Laboratory of the Dakar Technical and Scientific Police. The results confirmed that it was ecstasy (the active ingredient), according to Seneweb sources.
The two suspects were taken into custody and an investigation was launched.
