Student A. Sène and her lover B. Ngom were sentenced to three months in prison by the Mbour High Court for distributing obscene videos on WhatsApp.
L'Observateur, which attended the hearing, specifies that the victim, AF Niang, is both the neighbor of A. Sène and the ex-girlfriend of B. Ngom.
The events date back to the past relationship between B. Ngom and the victim. During that time, according to the same source, he was the sole recipient of her intimate videos. At the beginning of his new relationship with A. Sène, he allegedly forwarded this content to her.
On April 17, the newspaper continues, A. Sène then published these videos on her WhatsApp account, where they quickly went viral, accompanied by insults aimed at the victim, whom she notably called a lesbian, according to the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group (Gfm).
In court, A. Sène explained that he acted out of revenge, claiming that the victim had spread false rumors about him, including an alleged pregnancy followed by a clandestine abortion.
Faced with the dissemination of the images and the ensuing social pressure, the Gfm headline concludes, AF Niang filed a complaint with the central police station in Mbour. Arrested, the two defendants confessed to the acts in court. Following the prosecution's recommendations, the court found them guilty. The plaintiff did not seek damages.
